The kitteh ate my podcast

Well, dammit. It’s dinner time and I’m still editing the podcast. It’s been one of those days.

Philly left me his wretched cold when he departed Wales for Paris. I felt the tingly sinus thing yesterday, and today I’m sure. I have definitely a cold.

Plus, the dog has just been manic because, you know, new kitty in the house. Wait, I don’t think I’ve mentioned the new kitty.

Meet Jasper.

This lovely orange tabby showed up a couple of weeks ago, while Heather was visiting, and he just never left. We learned from a neighbor that orange kitty had been abandoned by the farmer down the lane, so we began feeding kitty outside. He got along very well with Truman and, after our guests were gone, we decided to invite kitty indoors. He didn’t need a second invitation. Tuesday we took him to the vet for the big snip and yesterday he got a name, and now Jasper lives with us. Jasper and Truman are delighted with each other. Unfortunately, Truman expresses his delight with his new friend by barking. And barking. And running in circles. And wagging his tail wildly. And barking. Which would be cute and endearing if it were any day but a podcast day.

So. My cosseted pets have been a barrier to recording most of the day. I know from experience, that if the podcast isn’t edited and uploaded by 6:00pm, it just ain’t happening. Now the cold is catching up with me and I am feeling tired and pathetic. Forgive me. I just want to toss back a LemSip, watch last night’s episode of Project Runway and go to bed.

Huge apologies for getting your hopes up, but it’s going to be tomorrow before I upload.

    Oh heck. I was gonna get all “gee, can’t you just push on through” about the ‘cast, but then you pull the cute homeless cat being adopted card! D@ammit. Now I’m totally on your side and smiling about Truman and Jasper enjoying Casa del Cast-on!

    Ahh LemSip, my favorite is the black currant flavored one, I have people bring them back across the pond for me! You just can’t get black currant flavored medicinal cold drinks around here…

    Hope you feel better soon, and that the animals calm down a bit.

    I got the cold last Sunday, let’s all blame Phil! Your new cat looks much like the cat at the Dylan Thomas House, but with healthier eyes! Enjoy your full house of furry pets! Waiting patiently in Wisconsin…

    My, what a handsome kitty he is! And I love the name Jasper, it’s got such panache.

    As for the podcast, you’re just giving us one more day to look forward to it. :}

    Jasper is beautiful! Dog and cats live together quite happily in our house. Except that Mika chases any other cat that comes into the garden and Hermione sometimes swipes at Mika as she walks past (but she does that to me as well so it’s not personal). They’re like siblings really. I love the vid of Truman with the rock bag, I laughed at just the same time as you at the end. Looking forward to listening. Checking iTunes every hour…

    Brenda,
    I wrote to you about 1 1/2 years ago in regards to my dog passing away & how much listening to your podcast helped me through that time. 3 weeks after the dog passed we got a cat from a client of mine. His name is Chase. He is the spitting image of Jasper! I know you will enjoy your new animals. Give them lots of love from me, Steve (my husband) & Chase.
    Thank you for everything you do.
