Gang aft agley

by Brenda on May 1, 2009

What began as a headache this morning has morphed into a full blown migraine. I thought it might pass, but it really has settled in to stay. I have taken drugs, and cannot therefore podcast or operate heavy machinery.

All of this to say that my best laid schemes for launching the new series today are royally agley, and it’s looking like the next episode will happen early next week.

I have to go lie down in a darkened room now, but if you should happen to see migraine gnomes dancing on my skull while I sleep, you have my permission to pick them off with a high powered rifle. Aim carefully, and please don’t shoot the dog.

Aaaahhh. I am so looking forward to the start of the new series, but I guess it won’t kill any of us to keep waiting. Hope you’re feeling better and can venture back out of that dark room soon. Sorry if my typing is too loud….

I hope the gnomes leave you soon. Take care!

3 Susan May 1, 2009 at 8:55 pm

Would those be the migraine gnomes with the hob-nailed boots and the heavy metal mallets? I know them well. I hope that they leave your head soon and that you don’t feel too washed-out when they go. Be gentle with yourself. Health is more important than getting a podcast out by a certain date. Your podcast is a gift and gifts don’t come with strings attached.

Oh no, Brenda! But what I want to know is, why did you have to send them MY way? I woke up with the most awful migraine this morning. Tried to work through it but no luck.

Hope you’re feeling better,

Trish

Oh, no! That sounds awful. Please take care.

Ooohh, I’m a migraine sufferer — take care!

DANG, I was looking forward to a new podcast.(:
I just found your podcast and I am enjoying it.
I listen to your podcasts during work. They are better than the radio because it is soothing talk.

Anyway I hope you feel better. I know migraines can stop one from going about their day.
Looking forward to listening to you next week.

please please feel better and know that i’m sending healing thoughts your way

Brenda,

Ooh you poor thing – hope you’re feeling better now and that those darn migraine gnomes didn’t steal too much of your energy. I’m looking forward with anticipation to your next series – your podcasts are superb and (if it is any consolation) have often soothed me in that post-migraine, getting back to reality, phase – I just wish I could do the same for you. Please take care.

Feel better, Brenda!!!

Oh no! If you tell what part of your head hurts, I can give you some acupressure points to use. *gentle hugs*

I’m so sorry you were in pain…hope the migraine is over by now! I can’t wait to listen to the newest podcast, whenever the gnomes allow you to get it out to us–I’ve missed you this month!!

13 Cecily May 3, 2009 at 6:39 pm

Sounds awful – get well soon!!

14 Vanessa May 4, 2009 at 2:25 am

*gentle hugs*
Take your time and if you’re not capable of smiling, you’re not capable of podcasting!
(also, some of those drugs are fun! 😉

Hello Brenda
I know only too well the hours spent in darkened rooms. May peaceful relaxation and sleep be yours….

Brenda – Make sure your blood pressure is under control. I had migranes in the past for several years. Imitrex did not work. Once I started taking Inderal (Propanolol) I was migrane free. Ask your doctor next time you visit. It may be worth the try.

Gad, I hate migraines! Not only the actual event, but the “headache hangover” the next day as well. Yuck.

Hope you’re feeling better Brenda!!

I like how Susan said it. Take care of you, and the Gift that is this podcast? We’ll wait. Even if on eleventerhooks. (Wait! Don’t read this till after it stops hurting to laugh!)
Does sitting in the garden help any?

21 sUsAn May 7, 2009 at 10:31 pm

As a fellow migraine sufferer I can commiserate. Hope you are on the mend…we will be here when you return. No rush. Be well, Brenda.

Bummer! Oh and I love that joke about the dog!
We here in the “states” are enjoying some pretty high powered pollen counts so headaches abound.
Hope you’re soon back in a comfy chair with the pointy sticks

Hi Brenda, I hope you’re feeling better. 🙁

I’m pretty sure I posted around December to say that I really enjoy listening and that I had started back from the beginning. Well, I got caught up about a month and a half ago and was so sad after about a week of not hearing your voice, that I went back and started from the beginning again!

PS: Do cookies help headaches, cuz I think that was a pretty good one… 🙂
