It’s Multi Media Monday!

Welcome to my newly redesigned blog! Again!

Shut up. It’s been a whole year since the last time I did this.

It’s been a week of code wrestling, mostly in fits and starts, as my body would allow. Okay, there was that one day last week where I just could NOT let it go, and was on the computer for WAY too long, but coding is a bit like knitting in that way. “I’m just going to try this one conditional tag, I’m nearly there, it’s going to work this time,” is not much different than, “Just one more row, no really, I mean it.”

I’ll keep the 50 cent tour brief, as celebratory gin figures prominently in my immediate future. On the right we have a sidebar, at the very top of which you will find the latest in Video Awesome. I’ve long wanted to share more videos, but the way the old blog was set up meant that only a few people actually saw the videos I shared. With the redesign comes a place on the home page just for sharing media, so expect to see a lot more of that around here. It might be a great piece of music, or something to make you smile or it might be, like today’s offering, a really great video just for knitters.

Today’s Multi Media Monday (m3) video has been featured in these pages in the past, but I think it’s totally worth another look, and so have brought it front and center once again. Brought to you by the folks at Knitpicks, How to Wear a Shawl doesn’t just teach you the basics of artfully draping knitted lace, oh no. It also teaches you how to wear lace with panache.

As for the rest of the site, well it functions pretty much as it always did. The main difference is that the main content – what most people are looking for when they visit – is right at the top of the page, where it’s easy to find.

love the new look and the video clip. So glad you are keeping up with the Blog. Had to stand on the train in to work this morning and spent the time listening to one of your very first podcasts. I had to bite my lip to stop myself laughing out loud amidst the comuters.
    all the best

I LOVE your new blog. I love all the whiteness… and I adore the little leaf coming off the end of the N. Sigh.

Thanks for spending energy and effort to communicate with us. I hope this fills the podcast void for a bit (for both of us).

Hurry and get better. 🙂 I’ve started listening to your podcasts while I run….two of my favorite things (running and knitting) all combined into one. 🙂

Don’t know what I’ll do on my long 11-13 mi runs once I finish listening to your latest podcats. 🙁 Maybe I’ll start over and listen to the old ones all over again. 🙂

  15. Just found your website. I love your video on wearing lace shawls, thank you for this. I’m half way through knitting my first shawl so there are some great ideas on how to wear shawls with panache.

My biggest worry is I’ll lose it! I keep leaving scarves and shawls (bought ones) in cafes, etc. I will just have to leave it on when I eat and carry baby wipes.

What a great video! I love looking at shawls but can never imagine myself wearing them. This almost makes me want to knit one. At least I’d know what type to pick. Thank you so much for sharing!

Hi Brenda, thanks for posting this video. I’m sure I’ve seen it before but will enjoy having another look (when I get home from work tonight). Having just finished my Swallowtail Shawl in red Wensleydale DK I am delighted to have options for wearing it.
I was really sorry to hear that your hurty shoulder (I think that’s what is plaguing you) is preventing you from knitting and podcasting. Take care, listen to your physio, perhaps have a chat to a herbalist about herbs with anti-inflammatory actions that you could drink as teas. I wish you a speedy and lasting recovery and look forward to your return to podcasting!
    King regards.
